Meet Jamie: The Heart Behind Labor of Love
Holding space for your becoming—through birth, healing, and beyond.
Hi, I’m Jamie — a Holistic Birth & Postpartum Doula, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and Creative Entrepreneur based in North Carolina. I’m also a proud wife, mama, yaya (grandmother), and lifelong nurturer of women’s journeys.
Everything I offer through Labor of Love is rooted in deep care, sacred support, and the belief that every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and held—especially during life’s most transformative seasons.
This is more than a business. It’s my calling.
A Heart for Birth & Beyond
My work in birth began as so many things do—with a spark. A calling I couldn’t ignore. Over time, that spark became a steady fire, leading me to become a holistic doula, deepen my knowledge of traditional birth practices, and offer emotional, physical, and informational support to women and families as they navigate pregnancy, labor, postpartum, and early parenting.
I believe birth is sacred. Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or your fifth, it deserves reverence, empowerment, and real support. My approach is intuitive and grounded—holding space for your voice, your values, and your vision of how you want to birth and mother.
Healing the Whole Woman
After my own journey through thyroid cancer, years of chronic stress, and the sometimes invisible labor of caregiving and entrepreneurship, I knew I needed to heal from the inside out. That led me to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I became a Certified Health Coach. I’ve since supported women through transitions of all kinds—from hormonal imbalances and burnout to digestive issues and lifestyle shifts.
My health coaching is never about shame or perfection—it’s about coming home to yourself. Nourishing your mind, body, and spirit. Getting rooted in what feels good and sustainable for you.
Creativity is My Medicine, Too
When I’m not attending births or coaching clients, you’ll find me behind my laptop designing soulful websites and branding for other heart-led business owners. I believe every entrepreneur deserves a digital space that feels aligned, welcoming, and beautifully theirs. For me, creativity is healing. It’s another way I hold space—for vision, for voice, and for dreams that deserve to be seen.
A Life of Purpose, Presence & Simplicity
I wear many hats—doula, coach, web designer, homeschool mama, Yaya—but at the core, I’m simply a woman who believes in living with intention, showing up fully, and creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and celebrated.
Labor of Love is my way of offering that space to you.
Whether you’re growing a baby, a business, or a new version of yourself—I’m here to remind you that you don’t have to do it alone. This is a journey of becoming, and I’m honored to walk it with you.

EXCELLENT Based on 3 reviews Posted on SarahTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot recommend Jamie enough! We hired her to be our doula in the early weeks of our pregnancy. We felt so ready after the months of preparation through her prenatal education classes. This paid off when our birth took a turn and became an emergency situation. We had discussed all of the possibilities and how we planned to navigate those, so when the time came, we were ready. Her unwavering support and coaching through labor was unmatched. She is such a calm, soothing presence and her knowledge makes you feel so comfortable. If we ever decide to have another baby, she will be our first call.Posted on HaileyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you're searching for the perfect doula, your search is over! Going into my second pregnancy I was terrified. My first birth was traumatic and I was unprepared. I only wish I had had the opportunity to have Jamie there with my first daughter as well! Throughout the journey of pregnancy she was there. Our consultations were heartfelt and emotional and full of support. No question felt silly or useless. By the time I went into labor. I was prepared. She had given me so much information and so many resources to look through to help me decide what kind of birth I wanted. Even with a supportive spouse having another voice there is amazing! Jamie advocated for me in a way that I could not during that time. She even discussed how I wanted her to advocate for me prior! And her her travel box of doula tools was never ending! She had many, many different tools to help you maneuver through labor. Overall, she truly made a huge difference in my birth in so many different aspects. I would highly, highly recommend her services to any woman!Posted on CoryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jamie did such an incredible job building my website . I’ve gotten so many compliments on how good it looks! Initially she asked me great questions to hone in on exactly what I wanted as an end product and she nailed it 👏🏻Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
