Timing Can Be Everything

Hey love,

If you’ve ever felt like you’re wandering through life without a roadmap, like you’re missing your “big moment,” or constantly wondering if you’re behind—this one’s for you.

Let me be the first to tell you: you’re not late. You’re not behind. And you’re certainly not the only one who feels like they should have it all figured out by now.

Life’s timing doesn’t always make sense when we’re in the thick of it—but when we pause, breathe, and reflect, we start to see the quiet beauty in the way it all unfolds.

The Weight of “I Should Know by Now”

A few years ago, my husband and I were having a heart-to-heart about life and purpose. He looked at me and said, “I still don’t know what I’m supposed to do with my life.”

In that moment, my response came from the deepest place in my heart: “Just keep going. You’ll find it.”

And that’s what I want to whisper to you too: Just keep going.

Because when we get so caught up in the pressure to figure it all out, to hit milestones by a certain age, to have the dream job, the perfect home, the polished daily routine… we forget that our journey is sacred—even when it feels messy.

The 7 Life Areas that Need Gentle Attention

There’s an exercise I come back to time and time again—especially when life feels unbalanced, chaotic, or unclear. It’s a beautiful practice to help you center your focus and realign with your purpose.

You’ll need:

  • A journal or sheet of paper
  • A pen
  • A few quiet moments

Write these 7 words down the side of your page, leaving several lines in between:

  • Faith
  • Feeling
  • Family
  • Fitness
  • Field (aka your work or purpose)
  • Friends
  • Fun

These are your 7 life pillars. Now take a moment to reflect on each one, one by one. Ask yourself:

  • Where am I right now in this area?
  • What do I want this area of my life to feel like?
  • What tiny, doable step could I take this week to nourish it?

Let’s Dive a Little Deeper Together

Faith: Your Soul’s Anchor

Faith doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. For me, it’s morning meditation, connecting with the Divine Source, and reminding myself that I am deeply loved and guided.

Whatever your spiritual practice looks like, spend a few intentional moments each day feeding your soul. That might be:

  • Reading Scripture or a devotional
  • Journaling prayers or meditations
  • Simply sitting in silence and listening for divine direction

Even 5 minutes a day can be transformational.

Feeling: Your Emotional Compass

We often bypass how we actually feel—especially when we’re busy caring for others, running a business, or checking off a never-ending to-do list.

So pause and ask: What do I want to feel today?

Maybe it’s peace, purpose, clarity, or energy.

Set that as your intention. Then notice what supports that feeling and what takes away from it. Slowly start aligning your actions with the feeling you desire.

Family: The Heart of Your Home

I call it my “Home Blessing”—the act of serving my family, not as a burden, but as a blessing. Whether it’s cooking, cleaning, or just being present, it’s all sacred when done with love.

Consider what would nourish your family connection this week:

  • A no-phones dinner
  • A game night
  • Decluttering a space together
  • Writing a note to your child or spouse

These small acts build lasting bonds.

Fitness: Honoring Your Body Without Punishment

Let me say this louder for the perfectionists in the back (including myself!): You do not need to do it all at once.

If you’re just starting—or restarting—your wellness journey, begin with compassion. Where can you begin today?

  • A 5-minute walk
  • Stretching after your shower
  • Dancing in your kitchen while dinner cooks
  • T-Tapp Basic Workout (15 mins!)

Write down what movement feels doable for you right now. Start there. Every bit counts.

Field: The Work You’re Called to Do

Maybe you love your work. Maybe you’re still figuring out what sets your soul on fire. Either way, your field—your work—is worthy of attention.

Write down two ways you can pour into this area this week:

  • Organize your workspace
  • Handwrite a thank-you note to a client
  • Brainstorm your next offering
  • Take a class to learn something new

Your work doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. You’re allowed to define success on your terms.

Friends: Soul Support & Laughter Medicine

In busy seasons, friendship can sometimes fall to the bottom of the list. But connection is part of your wellness too.

Text a friend. Schedule a walk. Plan a potluck or coffee date. Or just send a voice message saying, “Hey, I was thinking of you today.”

We weren’t meant to do life alone.

Fun: Your Permission Slip to Play

Don’t forget to have fun.

What makes you laugh? What makes you feel alive?

It could be baking cookies, painting, gardening, karaoke in the kitchen, or binge-watching your favorite cheesy show in your pajamas.

You are allowed to enjoy your life. Joy is productive. Fun is fuel.

How to Bring This All Together

Each of these 7 life areas can guide you back to balance—but you don’t have to master them all at once.

Try this simple weekly rhythm:

Monday – Faith Check-In
Tuesday – Feeling Focus
Wednesday – Family Day
Thursday – Fitness Boost
Friday – Field/Work Progress
Saturday – Friend Connection
Sunday – FUN. Non-negotiable. 😉

Even if you only spend 15 minutes a day on these—over time, you’ll begin to feel the shift. The chaos lessens. The fog lifts. You remember who you are and what you’re here to do.

Trust the Timing, Sweet Friend

If you’re in a waiting season, I want to remind you: there’s growth happening beneath the surface. You’re becoming.

You’re learning. You’re rising. You’re healing.

And maybe, just maybe, the timing that feels slow or uncertain is actually the divine setup for something more beautiful than you could imagine.

Let’s Reflect Together

Take a moment to journal your answers:

  • Which of the 7 life areas needs more attention right now?
  • What is one small step I can take to nourish that area this week?
  • What’s one truth I need to remember about where I am in my journey?

Then come share with me! I’d love to hear what you’re working on. Hop over to my Facebook page, or comment below. We grow better together.

Sending you big love and gentle reminders today: you’re doing better than you think. And you are right on time.

With love & gratitude,
Jamie
