Time to Detox

Hey love,

Ever feel like you just need to hit the reset button—not just on your diet, but on everything? Your energy, your space, your mindset? That’s your body (and soul) waving the little white flag saying, “Hey… I need a breather.”

I’ve been there more times than I can count. The clutter piles up, your mind won’t slow down, and your body is tired from all the things you’ve been carrying. That’s when you know: it’s time to detox.

But I’m not talking about some harsh cleanse, starvation protocol, or trend you found on social media. I’m talking about a sacred, gentle, holistic detox—one that actually nourishes you while clearing the clutter from your body, mind, and life.

Let’s get into it.

First, What Does “Detox” Actually Mean?

To me, detox isn’t about punishment. It’s about permission.

Permission to:

  • Let go of what’s weighing you down
  • Create space for clarity and peace
  • Reconnect with how you want to feel

It’s as much about what you remove as it is about what you invite in. And it can be physical, emotional, spiritual—or all of the above.

This guide is designed to help you explore 3 core areas:

  1. Body Detox
  2. Mind Detox
  3. Home & Life Detox

You don’t have to do it all at once. Choose one area to start with and give yourself the grace to go at your own pace.

1. BODY DETOX

This is usually where most people start, and for good reason—when your body is sluggish, everything else feels harder.

But we’re not doing restriction here. We’re doing nourishment.

Let Go:

  • Processed foods
  • Caffeine overload
  • Refined sugar
  • Dairy (even just temporarily—try it for a week)
  • Alcohol
  • Emotional eating habits

Invite In:

  • Water first thing in the morning (add lemon if you don’t like it!)
  • Whole, plant-based meals
  • Fresh fruit (especially melons and berries)
  • Steamed greens
  • Herbal teas like nettle, peppermint, or dandelion root
  • Light movement: walking, stretching, or gentle yoga
  • Deep breaths and sunlight

Detox isn’t just about what you eat—it’s also about how you treat yourself. Speak to your body like it’s your partner or your bestie, not your enemy.

Tip: Keep a log of how you feel each day. You’ll notice shifts in your mood, energy, skin, and digestion as your body thanks you.

2. MIND DETOX

Your thoughts have power. And often, they’re the heaviest clutter we carry.

It’s time to clear the mental noise so you can hear what really matters.

Let Go:

  • Scrolling first thing in the morning
  • Doom-scrolling late at night
  • Negative self-talk
  • Mental overload (too many tabs open—in your brain and browser)
  • Old stories that no longer serve you

Invite In:

  • A social media detox (try a weekend!)
  • Morning journaling or evening brain dumps
  • Meditation or prayer
  • Screen-free evenings
  • Guided audios or affirmations
  • Positive input: books, podcasts, music that lifts you

Try this: Every night before bed, write down 3 things you’re grateful for and 3 things you’re letting go of.

Even a 5-minute daily practice can free up so much space.

3. HOME & LIFE DETOX

Clutter isn’t just visual—it’s energetic. Your home reflects your life. And clearing space in your environment can spark powerful shifts inside you.

Let Go:

  • Clothes that don’t fit your life or body anymore
  • Paper clutter and junk mail
  • Expired food, old pantry items
  • Toxic cleaning products
  • Overcommitted schedules and draining obligations

Invite In:

  • A simplified routine
  • A space that feels good to be in
  • Natural cleaners (hello vinegar and baking soda!)
  • Plants and open windows
  • Margin in your calendar

Start small: Detox one drawer, one room, one shelf. Light a candle. Turn on music. Make it sacred.

Tip: Use the mantra: If it doesn’t support my peace, it doesn’t belong in my space.

Detox Isn’t a Fix. It’s a Gift.

You don’t need fixing. You need space. Space to hear yourself. To feel again. To breathe.

Detox is about tuning back in—not punishing yourself into perfection.

So whether you’re clearing your fridge, your mind, or your calendar, do it with love.

You’re allowed to feel good. You’re allowed to have energy. You’re allowed to reclaim your peace.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

Let’s Walk This Out Together

Ready to start? Here’s what to do next:

  1. Pick one area: Body, Mind, or Home.
  2. Choose 1-3 small things to release and 1-3 to invite in.
  3. Track how you feel for 7 days.
  4. Join me over on Facebook to share your progress and cheer each other on!

We weren’t meant to carry so much. And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply let go.

I’m cheering for you.

With love and light,
Jamie
