When The Crazy Kicks In

Posted on Posted in Self Development

We all know what I’m talking about. Things are in an uproar, you have 17 things to do today, you were supposed to be somewhere 15 minutes ago, and you have something else on your mind weighing you down that you just can’t shake.

It seems like sometimes we just need a pause button for life. Right?

We could use it to pause our children from growing up. We could use it to pause an argument or gain clarity on a trying situation. We could use it to just be.

There is something so powerful about that…to just be. We don’t always take time for ourselves, and I’m not exactly sure why. Are we pressured as a society to just go, go, go and do, do, do? Do we guilt ourselves for taking time out for ourselves because we know we have x, y and z to do today and well, we’re just gonna have to wait because there’s not enough time in the day?

Just Be.It’s got to stop. The insanity of crazy has to stop if you want your life to flourish.

Wake up before the kids wake up. Grab your morning tea or coffee, and just be. I do my best to just be me while chatting with the Lord in the mornings. I gain so much clarity when I listen instead of talk. It’s truly an insanity buster, even if it’s just for 15 minutes, before the baby eats the dog food.

There’s this lady that I heard of awhile back, called The Flylady. Have you heard of her? Oh my goodness, she’s like an angel, seriously. I remember when chaos was surrounding me, and then it disappeared because I followed her methods! Seriously. I need to follow it again. Yep, it’s going on my to do list. She tells us, “you can do anything for just 15 minutes.” She’s right! Even if you have to set that timer, you are worth it. You deserve it. LOVE yourself enough to plan that time for yourself and let nothing stop you.

Will you do that? Will you take my challenge starting today and carve out 15 minutes for yourself? Even if it’s not before the kids wake up, plan it for some time in the day. They have this awesome thing called Netflix now, and VeggieTales is the bomb diggity for a babysitter sometimes. Point is, make yourself a priority, don’t allow anyone or anything to stop your special time for rejuvenation. You deserve it. Think of it as a recharge before the crazy kicks in. Hop on over to my Facebook page and let me know if you’re in.  We can hold each other accountable!

Raising my coffee cup…CHEERS to a fabulous day!!

With love,

  1. Jamie Lynn,
You amaze me! Clarity comes when we strive for peace within ourselves.

  2. Jamie,

I am so proud of you. You are an amazing writer. What you say comes from your heart and through much prayer. For years you couldn’t understand why things happened the way they did but now you know God was preparing you all the time. You are truly surrendered and it shows. I love you with all my heart.

  3. Thank you momma!!!
You are so right! Until we realize that everything happens that is supposed to happen, and we let go of the worry and defeating thoughts, we’re not living in our purpose…SO glad I finally realized it and can now share with the world freely!!! <3
    I love you so much!!

  4. We have SO much in common! My 2-year-old eats the dog food and I’m a Flybaby too! LOL! Nice post Jamie. Well said and such powerful advice. It really doesn’t make sense why we so often DO NOT carve out time for ourselves. Have you heard of Entrepreneur On Fire? If not, I think you’d like it.

  5. Hey Angela!
That is so awesome!! I knew I liked you 😉 and I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment with your words of wisdom…that means so much to me since you’ve been blogging for wayyyy longer and know so much more!! I’m super glad you got something from it, and hope you’ll take the time out for yourself <3 No, I haven't heard of that, but will head over to Facebook to see if I can find them... or their website! Thanks girl!
