6 Things To Let Go For Inner Happiness

Have you ever watched someone smile, take everything in, and wonder “Why can’t I be THAT happy?” 

They aren’t holding the keys to happiness all to themselves! It’s out there for whoever wants it, takes charge of their life, changes the habits that keep them stuck, and tries to better themselves constantly.

When I think of happiness, I think of true contentment, inner joy and peace, that no one can mess with. Not necessarily winning the lottery type happy, but an inner contentment that lasts much longer because we don’t base it on our surroundings.

I want to share a list of ideas that I believe can create an amazing shift within yourself to achieve happiness, so you can enjoy life with vitality!

  1. Withdraw the need to be right all the time.
  2. Give up the need of always being in control.
  3. Discard those self-defeating thoughts that drag you down.
  4. Let go of the resistance to change.
  5. Surrender the labels that have been placed on you.
  6. Ditch the excuses.

After you think about this list, go through each one and see where you may be stuck.

Is it the need to be right all the time? Or to be in control of everything?

Do you constantly put yourself down in your mind, telling yourself you can’t do something?

Do you fear change? Is it holding you back from your greater purpose?

Has someone placed a label on you that you feel is now part of you? Think back to what that person said, why they said it. Most people usually say things that are a reflection of them, not you. So let them go, and start giving yourself daily affirmations or positive self talk, to redirect your thought patterns.

And lastly, those excuses you have for not losing weight, or writing your book, or living the life you love, they’ve got to be pushed aside! You are worthy, capable and a VERY valuable person here on earth! The goals and dreams within you are there because you are supposed to make them happen.

If you don’t know where to start, I highly suggest writing in a journal every morning.

As soon as your feet hit the floor, grab your journal and pen, and start writing. Write whatever comes to your mind, your to do list for the day, or even your dreams from the night before. I want you to just write. Allow your thoughts to come out on paper and get them out of your mind and into the world so you can focus on living in the moment more.

Even if you’re upset with someone, or something is not fair that you think should be different, write it!

Your Morning Journal can be a powerful source of inspiration and rejuvenation as you embark on a more fulfilling lifestyle. After you’ve filled your journal about halfway, take a look back at what you wrote in the beginning. You may see something that inspires you, or you may find out what’s holding you back from your God-given abilities.
